Years ago, in a Christian village, girls were burned at the stake for believing in the devil. They took their possessions and placed them in a box in an abandonned house, which was cursed by the evil. The girls who were burned were not believers but girls who tried to warn the villages of evil. The devil would entice them with sweet music, to get them to open the box so hell could be unleashed and the only way to stop the terror on the town would be to sacrifice the one who opened it.
Years later, a girl runs from school into the woods where the house resides as she gets bullied and comes across the box. In curiosity she opens it and history repeats itself bringing every ones worst fears to life with a vengeance. The girl goes on a quest to find out how to stop the force of evil and realises the only way is through the sacrifice of the one who opened it- herself.
Beginning: The beginning of the film starts with the future of what has happened her after the box has been opened and all the terror has already been unleashed. Then it journeys back to the past of when she first opened the box but it does not show this. it shows her in the house and her first viewing of the box. During this time flashbacks of her at the end are shown at this time. After this has happened it would go back to the present which would establish the girls character and how she was different to everyone else- hence why she gets bullied. The beginning would then reveal her coming across the house in the woods and why that day was particularly different.
Middle: The middle of the film would reveal all the terror the box has caused on the town. As it is a small village suspicion immediately turns to the one who doesn't fit in and the one old wives of the village are certain is a witch due to similarities to the past town legends and those girls who were burned at the stake. Unable to handle the accusations of her actions which she has committed by mistake, she flees the village trying to find a way to stop the forces of evil and comes acrossd troubling encounters on the way.
End: Whilst on her quest she comes across the vicar who surprisingly tries to help her as he has come across this issue before and who believes her innocence. He unwillingly reveals to her the truth that her death is the only way to save the town. He encourages her sacrifice but she is determined to find another way. In doing so she is ambushed by the idea of failure and that sacrifice is the only way, death by burning on the stake and sacrificing her soul to save the town enduring in eternity with the devil. In what she thinks is her last moments on this earth, the sacrifice fails as she is too innocent and a good force provails over the bad.
